I completely forgot about that one evening I think also three weeks ago. We went to a Youth Culture Centre called the “Culturewheel”. I know places like this from Germany so it was nice to compare them. A big plus for Cairo you have the “No rain guarantee” so you can have Open Air concerts every day. The atmosphere was very good and I had the chance to meet Nancy, which was cool because she moved in which us at the same day.
Nancy is playing in a band called “Masqara”. Usually they play Heavy Metal, but on this day they did an acoustic concert. I was quite surprised because their first song was “Rape me” by Nirvana. The lead singer (another Nancy) was unveiled, it was the first time for me to see much freedom of expression here in Cairo.
Anyway I was really amazed by my flatmate Nancy, because she can play like 6 or 7 instruments (including piano, guitar, bass, flute, violin, …). So I decided that I will force my future kids to learn instruments… and I will force them to do sports… does this sound bad? Maybe…
